A message to Senate Republicans

We're on to you. Even your base is on to you. Soon, very soon, the economy is going to take an even greater hit and we're going to place most of the blame where it belongs: with you, the GOP. This isn't to say that we don't understand the Democratic Party's role in this crisis--we do--but first things first, since you're the greatest single threat to peace and stability.

Your unending insistence on deregulation that gave us the current economic crisis, to the gerrymandering and disenfranchisement of the poor, of Black Americans, and of homeless veterans, to your illegal war predicated on a lie, you time is ending.

Not only that, but we're coming for you with the legal system, with the courts. That time is coming soon. Observers like myself have waited for the day when the American public had no other choice but to deal with you, the real terrorists, the real internal criminal threat to the security and prosperity of the average person worldwide.

There won't be any more copping-out, no more cable television, no more shopping, no more, over, done. Without runaway consumerism to divert the public's attentions away from the real problems and the glaring inequality, you don't have much left except force.

That force will work for a short time, and then the public will stop tolerating it and absorb it in the groundswell that's coming--as it should--spontaneously, not directed from above. We know that the most extremist elements of the political world will label self-defense as "terrorism," just as they have so many time in the past, but it's not going to work. Why? You can't even accomplish what you want effectively, with any lasting-impact, which is a blessing.


You have:

--Increased the power and size of the federal government in ways you never wanted to, thank you.

--Created an economic crisis that's sure to place you back firmly as the minority political party for another fifty years, thank you very much.

--Run a cha-cha line of corruption into our courts and jails that would shock the citizens of the worst banana republics in this hemisphere.

--Far too many candidates and incumbents who appear to have very serious sexual issues such as pedophilia and closeted homosexual urges, as well as serial-adultery and the solicitation of prostitutes.

--No ideological foundation left as a party, the reason for this belated-move towards "conservatism" (a faux-version) in the auto "bailout," really a loan, but being misreported by your allies in the media.

--No morals, no beliefs, and no soul.

--The markings of criminals in almost every respect.

--To be broken-up as a national party due to endless criminal behavior,
an aversion for rehabilitation, and a lack of remorse.


After all the masks and excuses are used up (coming tomorrow), there will only be the reality of what held this American order together all along: the threat of naked force.

This time, it's going to meet up with a sociological explosion mightier than all the atomic weapons on earth, and it will lose. See you in 2010 when the playing field has changed even further away from your agenda, and hope many of you aren't sitting in prison at that time.

And don't think for a moment that we didn't notice you throwing loans to the auto industry to your lame duck president, since he's on his way out. You're next. Even the rednecks are getting sick of you and your shit and Black Americans are going to continue voting regardless of your efforts. Unions are going to be making a comeback, and most of the economy is going to become nationalized.

President-elect Obama recently said, "If I found out that there were

high officials who knowingly, consciously broke existing laws,

engaged in cover-ups of those crimes with knowledge forefront, then I

think a basic principle of our Constitution is nobody above the law."

Attorney General-designate Eric Holder recently said top Bush

Administration officials "authorized the use of torture, approved of

secret electronic surveillance of American citizens, secretly

detained American citizens without due process of law, denied the

Writ of Habeas Corpus to hundreds of accused enemy combatants, and

authorized the use of procedures that both violate international law

and the United States Constitution."

We must now hold them to honor their words of accountability.

The Bush administration has refused to investigate its own crimes and

President Bush may issue blanket pardons before he leaves, indeed we

fully expect him to even try to pardon himself. But that is all the

more reason why we must keep as much heat as possible on the

potential for real post inauguration prosecutions. No pardon could

possibly be broad enough to exonerate the entire litany of the crimes

of the outgoing White House without itself raising serious

constitutional questions.

President Obama must appoint a Special Prosecutor - ideally Patrick

Fitzgerald - to fully investigate these crimes and prosecute those

responsible to demonstrate that we are truly a Nation of Laws and no

one - including the President - is above the law. And you can make

LBJ Library releases final recordings...and implicates Richard Nixon in treason

Austin, Texas--The library is reporting that these are the very last tapes, covering the final months of the President Lyndon Baines Johnson from May 1968 to January 1969.

What's revelatory is his discussion with Senate Republican leader Everett Dirksen and the person-in-question, Richard M. Nixon. During the Watergate hearings Dirksen was the Republican congressman who stated that Richard M. Nixon would "split the party."

"This is treason," Johnson said, referring to people close to Nixon, during a conversation with Senate Republican leader Everett Dirksen. The Democratic president never accused the Republican who would succeed him of treason, but said, "If Nixon keeps the South Vietnamese away from the (peace) conference table, that's going to be his responsibility." ("New tapes show LBJ worried about Vietnam, Nixon," AP, 12.04.2008)

So, he's stated that Nixon's operatives were committing "treason," yet never "accused" Nixon of them in the tapes directly. The problem is, he was telling Dirksen just those very words. Isn't it great to have the press tell us our history, even when evidence suggests otherwise, right before our eyes?

Nixon's operatives were in South Vietnam doing their best to scuttle peace negotiations until the elections were over in the United States, namely, after November 1968. Their approach was to keep South Vietnamese leaders away from the negotiating tables to hurt the chances of Democratic candidate Hubert Humphrey. This is an attempt at prolonging a war, which is treason.

In our timeworn American political tradition, this was brought-up during the Watergate hearings and quickly swept under the rug like the allegations of CIA drug smuggling in Southeast Asia during the war and in the Iran-Contra pipeline.

Special counsel John Dohr's investigators discovered corroboration into these stories and LBJ sounds absolutely certain that this was occurring in Vietnam. He had intelligence and media reports to suggest this was so, and he went so far as to contact Richard Nixon--then running for the White House--and confronted him over it. LBJ continued to harangue the President-elect after the elections for several days. Nixon being Nixon, he lied and did his best to dissuade LBJ that this was not the case.

But never mind LBJ--he didn't know what treason or abuse of office was, he had no experience there...excepting in the Gulf of Tonkin incident, when he authorized wiretaps of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (with the aid of Bill Moyers) and many civil rights era leaders, strong-armed everyone who got in his way, and so on. A wolf knows a wolf.

Do a search on John Dohr and his role in the Watergate investigations and hearings, and while you're at it, try finding much of anything on the Watergate probe's findings in any detail. You're not going to find much. Why is that? Unsurprisingly, CBS neglected even one mention of this--the most important revelation--from their broadcasts, instead focusing on LBJ's reactions to the riots at the Democratic Convention and other errata. Big surprise.

FEC: GOP Sen. David Vitter must pay legal expenses incurred in DC Madam proceedings

Washington D.C.--The Federal Election Commission's (FEC) board has released their ruling today that Louisiana Senator David Vitter cannot use campaign funds for his legal expenses surrounding his role in the proceedings of the late DC Madam, Deborah Jeane Palfrey.

However, he can use $31,000 of them to pay for legal costs he incurred in the Senate Ethics Committee probe into his misbehaviors when he was not a member of the Senate.

Yes, the logic is a little odd, but the decision is fair overall, a very balanced one in an era of almost no oversight of elected officials (mainly Republican ones):

The FEC has ruled in its draft opinion that Vitter cannot use campaign funds to pay $85,000 in fees for work related to quashing the subpoenas.

“Sen. Vitter’s need for legal representation to quash Ms. Palfrey’s subpoenas stemmed from his role as a potential witness in Ms. Palfrey’s trial and was not related to information known to or acquired by Sen. Vitter during the course of his candidacy or in the performance of his duties as a U.S. Senator,” stated the FEC.

The FEC’s draft opinion also denied Vitter’s request to use campaign funds for $75,000 in legal fees for monitoring Palfrey’s criminal proceedings.

“Subpoena Counsel would have monitored the Palfrey criminal proceeding irrespective of Sen. Vitter’s campaign or duties as a U.S. Senator,” the FEC wrote. “Thus, the use of campaign funds to pay for the legal fees and expenses incurred when Subpoena Counsel monitored the Palfrey criminal proceedings would be an impermissible personal use.” ("Vitter cannot use campaign funds to pay for legal fees," The Hill, 08.20.2008)

And there you have it. It had nothing to do with his campaigning, something Vitter and his counsel knew, but fought and lost against. It appears the price of everything has gone higher than any of us would have imagined.

J-7 wishes to congratulate Senator Vitter on being a prime example of gross irresponsibility outside of the White House, and a typical Republican officeholder. That's about to end.

Soon-to-be ex-wife Wendy and Vitter's daughters are likely to keep digging at one of the most pathetic examples of patriarchy America has to offer...if they still talk to him anymore. Mrs. Vitter is a former prosecutor, which is going to make her ire that much more painful to dumbo, and great for laughs and lashings of the ultraviolent.

It says it all that The Hill was the first to jump on this, since the GOP is that most partisan of political agents. Thanks Mr. Moldea, at least you got this one right. The public gets to comment tomorrow, so send your love--be formal and polite--to the FEC offering your solid support of a fair decision.

Vitter was in Palfrey's phone records, she was convicted of soliciting prostitution, and therefore, he also solicited prostitutes. That's against the law, and not about sinning, regardless of the ending of the statute of limitations. Senator Vitter is a lawbreaker and a black liar.

WHY HASN'T OHIO REP. BOB NEY RESIGNED YET?

Washington D.C.--That's a rhetorical question.

The answer is obvious: the GOP will do anything, and I mean anything to keep their majority. Why? To continue shielding the Bush administration. The Democrats don't really want a genuine house-cleaning either because most of them are dirty too.

They are all basically complicit with the Bush administration, and bipartisan goof on their part. Cold busted. The Bush years will be remembered in history for being the time when the public finally had the scales fall from its collective-eyes, and discovered that their political system needed an overhaul.

Ney isn't resigning because Bush and Cheney need him for that margin majority. They have to have to avoid prison, and the fear is becoming palpable throughout the political culture. Even the pundits and ideologues like Bill O'Reilly seem more restrained lately. That's because they had better shut-up. Washington DC's culture has always been one of blackmail, and this whole affair with Foley is a cream dream for politics junkies. Why it didn't occur during Clinton is beyond me, but who cares? It's happening now.

BOB NEY CONFESSES FOR THIRD TIME: "OK, THIS TIME YOU'VE REALLY GOT ME."

Washington D.C.--Bob Ney says that he's resigning. This is news? Ten year olds knew this. He plead guilty? The evidence was well-known, though everyone should have due process, right? Not to the GOP, unless it involves themselves. At least they're consistent on this point. Like Mark Foley, Ney's considering getting treatment for alcoholism.

Let's see...we have George W. Bush, Winston Churchill, Dick Cheney, Boris Yeltsin, Ted Bundy, Tip O'Neill, J. Edgar Hoover, Leonid Brehznev, George H.W. Bush, Spiro Agnew, Nikita Khruschev, Mark Foley, Herman Goering, Bob Ney, Richard Nixon...I could go on-and-on. When you know that you are a pig who is forcing American families into-the-streets, you would drink too. A whole lot.
