Straits of Hormuz Equals Gulf of Tonkin

The Persian Gulf--Today, we learned that the Gulf of Tonkin incident never happened, it's official, and that it was a lie told by President Johnson, the State Department of that time, and that criminal who incredibly still goes by the name Robert McNamara (an ancient ancestor of Donald Rumsfeld, he was Sec. of Defense under Kennedy and Johnson). They lied then in 1964, and they're lying now about the same stupid scenario: that we were fired-on in the Straits of Hormuz. It's a lie, and even if it's true, we've provoked it before in that area. We don't belong there, and our presence there is to cause the kind of incident that would spark a war with Iran. Like Saddam Hussein's "weapons of mass destruction," it is a lie--a fiction, for money. It really is that simple.

  1. The minute I heard about this Hormuz incident, the first thing I thought of was Gulf of Tonkin. Very scary stuff indeed. Could Bush be willing to start a war with Iran and leave it up to his successor to sort out? I think it’s a grave possibility. The partisanship Bush has espoused would lead us to believe that he could sabotage a democratic presidency by making the current war even more unwinnable…

  2. I'm not entirely convinced the public would blame the next president at all considering it's well established who started the mess in the Middle East: the GOP and the Bush administration, majorally. Yes, there were idiot Democrats who voted for the war, but we can see they're paying for it in the primaries and the last elections.
The war in the Middle East was never "winnable," incidentally. We should have known this before the war--I and millions of others did, so what's the problem America? Right, greedy and stupid, with an ability to ignore and rationalize that hasn't been seen since 1933-1945...

  4. Certainly the Bush administration is trying to provoke Iranian patrol boats along the straits of Hormuz. There is a great deal of provocation by the administration--through the brother of Ronald Roughead, CNO Gary Roughead! What a small world it is.
