N.Y. Governor Eliot Spitzer Resigns

New York State--Yeah? What's that got to do with my and most Americans' lives? That's his loss, not mine. You keep your nose clean and these things don't happen. But at least it's reminded the public that GOP Senator David Vitter did the same thing during 1999-2001.

He's just lucky that the statute of limitations has expired on it. Meanwhile, the media finally discovers that the sex industry uses the Internet, cell phones, laptops, and all the rest of that unnecessary technological-dreck that's inevitably headed for a landfill in China in a couple years.

We're getting what we deserve as a nation, we produced this. Sure, it feels better to transfer our own responsibility in all of this onto someone like George W. Bush, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, and Wall Street--they deserve the hatred they receive. But ultimately, they're just a symptom of our own deficiencies and weaknesses. Go team, rah. Boo team, lose. We're already there.
