this site's most popular post ever...Mr. Smiley

Ed.-Iffin' you never heard of "Mr. Smiley," let me clue you in: it's some weird marijuana substitute that was once sold over the counter here and elsewhere across the US, mostly at shady gas stations.

I smoked it. It does produce intoxication. It's also very, very bad for you, and I don't recommend you try it. They only reason it didn't harm me is that I took two tokes, no more.

Without being too prolix: http://chickasawpicklesmell.blogspot.com/2010/05/mr-smiley-product-review.html

A'murkan Exceptamatism™!

Truly, A'murka is exceptional! So exceptional I had to coin a new word today: Exceptionihilism. Reread A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court and you'll see that this was apprised long ago. We're exceptional alright. Exceptionally dangerous to all life on the planet. We need to thank our business community and our edumacational systum.

The deafening silence of the Tea Party demographic over yet another unfunded mandate

Where's all the outrage over the extension of Bush II tax-cuts for the rich? OK, we all saw this coming since Libertarians and the other red-headed stepchildren on the right ditched rational thought and a sense of social responsibility ages ago, but where is it? Where's that traditional conservative force and principle?

The fact is, the tax-cuts are one of the most massive unfunded mandates in our history. Cue the sound of crickets until another African-American makes it to the White House...

They shouldn't worry so much about this president, but being what they are, they're going to keep begging the question since they cannot cope emotionally since we have a Black one, and one I don't even like, trust, or support. Let me be crystal clear: I didn't vote for this asshole. I understand that the lawn jockey was recently stolen from the Bush dynasty's compounds, but no worries--the current president should be attending their next family reunion, so it's good, it's doss.

Meanwhile--back at the ranch--white closet racists will have to cling to what's left of their puerile fantasy while little has changed for the good in America, and that their irrational support for an empty-suit was just one more case of the mirror being held-up to them.

Once again, they failed the test. How are they so different from the Tea Baggers?

Happy holidays Bill Ayers!

On the dumbbell parade (the 9/12) march numbers and your lazy asses

Washington D.C.--Was it 2 million, as many--uh--parade goers and their tax-cheat backers want us all to think? Nope. Not even close.

Reasonable estimates coming from the police and even the conservative Washington Times has it at around 70-75,000. That's not the real problem. The numbers don't mean anything, it's the sprawl of yelling zombies, spouting terms they never learned anything about in civics class: "Socialist!" Yet--and to underscore their extremism--Obama's in-the-pocket of big pharma and the insurance companies anyway. No, it's because he's black and that their party lost the election, the Republican Party, that other party of big business. Also, they're incredibly ignorant individuals who are easily swayed by the message of fear. That's what we call an idiot, incidentally, a fool.

And who's paying to cart all the tards around? The aforementioned big businessmen and women who declared war on the average person, and therefore, the social contract, long ago. America's sinking, but these morons are too stupid to see the man on the hill running everything into the ground. No, instead, it's the "niggers," the "faggots," phantasm-like "socialists" (yet they never refer to Sen. Bernie Sanders as one, and he is), "communists," and a lot of other terms that aren't applicable outside of science fiction and The Turner Diaries. What supporters (70% of the public, easily dwarfing these loud-mouthed dunces) of single payer are waiting for is beyond me, I guess they're all on Facebook fucking around...ahem. The fact is, these crazies at the town halls are the minority, they're just very loud and they have corporate backing in many cases, if not having been pushed there by these same faceless forces through propaganda. Yet, where's the majority? Something needs to be done, and done now about these yelling geriatrics and racists, these fools.

In other words, if you support single payer, you need to get off of your collective dead-asses and do this: go down to your congressional representative's office and hold a vigil, and not just for one day, for a long, long time if necessary. Write them and call them incessantly until they start doing what we--the majority--want them to do on health care. These jackapes are being scared and even paid to come out and threaten, yell, and intimidate the rest of us into apathy and silence and it's working. They are the minority, we are the majority, and we want socialized medicine. Period. There is nothing left to say after you know that statistic of 70%, and some stats are higher than that.

And young people: what the fuck are you assholes waiting for? Are you retarded? Stupid? I can assure you that you're not going to live forever. Just look at some of you coming back from the Middle East in body bags. And for what? Once again, to make some faceless investors richer. To do nothing about this and to just apathetically take it or buy into it is to be less than a slave. After that, one begins to deserve everything that flows-out of that arrangement. There literally are no words, because after that, widescale violence becomes inevitable with the collapse of the social contract, that agreement we all have to band together as a society to care for one another rather than to murder each other. What are societies for? I bet you cannot answer that question.

Now, that's how stupid you're all being by doing nothing. It doesn't get any lower than that.

But if you really want to get to the crux of this stupidity, it's the American South again, the old Confederacy of Dunces that was never able to function within a democracy and still isn't. If you look at the outlays of the elections since the American Civil War and the voting patterns that drag America into a jaded authoritarianism, it's the South doing it again and again and again. Stupid is as stupid does. We could very well end up with another Civil War, it will have been just as avoidable as the first, and the South will have created the majority of the mess once again. We're seeing the cost of this stupidity writ large and we will reap chaos and destruction from it if we don't start making this a participatory democracy. There's only one way to do it, we all know how, and it's time to get off our asses and into the town halls and the streets to counter these incredibly moronic assholes, there is no other way. Democracy isn't a microwaveable pizza. Do it, hit it, go, now. Quit playing with yourselves.

This whole deal is political theater to give you that golden opportunity to cop-out and do nothing--and I know full well you're all looking for it. Do it. Now. Go. Find your congressional representative's office this weekend and go to his office personally and tell them you want single payer. If they're not going to support it, tell them that not only are you not going to vote for them, but that you're going to campaign for their opponents, that you're going to tell all of your friends and family not to vote for them. Know someone who should run for office but hasn't ever bothered? Push them, get them to run as an independent who will support this agenda of single payer care for all. No excuses, do it. Do it now, otherwise you're also intellectually incapable of functioning in a democracy, and that's about as low as it gets.

Obama's in their pocket, it's about race, ignorance, unwarranted fear, and lost elections:

Guns don't kill people, Part I...

Guns don't kill people...

..., Phil Spector kills people.

..., morons who should never own a gun kill people.

...., people who say "Guns don't kill people," kill people.

..., a loaded gun pointed at a person and discharged at them, kills people.

..., an ignorant redneck pointing a gun accidentally kills people.

..., Libertarians who should never own a gun, kill people.

..., a pathological version of penis envy (in men) kills people.

..., gun and ammunition companies that sell guns to fools, kill people.

..., children with their parents' guns, kill people.

..., white supremacists who should never be allowed to own an air rifle, kill people.

..., mentally-ill people with the God-given right to own an assault rifle, kill people.

..., God created people, and therefore, guns, so God kills people and must be evil on weekends.

..., but my .50 belt-fed machine-gun is good for hunting deer.

..., a bad political culture fed by the ignorant coward, kills people.

..., but Ted Nugent kills animals, and thankfully, isn't allowed to kill people.

..., but America is very good at killing people to turn a buck.

..., a projectile going faster than the speed of sound crashing into a human trunk or brain-pan, kills people, usually for no logical reason whatsoever.

Joe the plumber™ (really Sam, but "Joe" sounds more iconic) to be 10-day war correspondent in Israel-Gaza conflict

The Gaza Strip, Palestine--It would be a damn shame if he was killed by "friendly fire," a damn shame. The plumbers' unions of Toledo would hang the flags at half-mast for weeks, honoring a scab who had that hint of charm so often found in retarded people. Oh sure, he's Ernie Pyle, only he comes of like Mr. Clean™ running on two brain cells--and Joe the Plumber is a fictional character.

Oh yeah: Russia has stopped all natural gas shipments via-pipelines through the Ukraine to Europe. Just thought I'd mention it, since the press doesn't think it very important. Please, make Sam Wurtzelbacher head of the RNC, I want to see the GOP collapse faster.

A message to Hamas: aim for the head, then the wallet.

"Obama bristles as the bubble closes in" --Politco.com

"Journalism is the one solitary respectable profession which honors theft (when committed in the pecuniary interest of a journal,) & admires the thief...However, these same journals combat despicable crimes quite valiantly--when committed in other quarters."
--Mark Twain, 1880.

WWW--Can you blame Obama? Is it really necessary for the press to come along every time the presidential motorcade goes out on a jaunt for an ice cream cone, or when the president-elect/president wants to take his kids to a park? Is it really relevant at all, is it newsworthy? Of course not, and the press are taking umbrage at President-elect Barack Obama for suggesting otherwise.

Yes, it's more about that ugly little troll in the room (not the GOP), the Holy of Holies, "access." Sounds lewd--I know--but there it is.

Yet, they've done very little bickering over following the most powerful man in America besides Karl Rove (whose constant whereabouts never concerned them much during his unfortunate tenure-by-appointment in the White House) these last eight years: that would be Vice President Dick Cheney, who has been hiding in "undisclosed locations" more often than not.
After ordering a tuna melt on 12-grain bread, Obama approached reporters and placed his hand on the shoulder of pool reporter Philip Rucker of The Washington Post, who was scribbling away in his notebook.

“You don't really need to write all that down,” Obama said.

All presidents and would-be presidents struggle with “the bubble” – the security detail and the always-there reporters that impose barriers to any spontaneous interaction with the outside world. ("Obama bristles as the bubble closes in," Politico.com, 12.28.2008)

Right, this is the most important thing in the world, getting down exactly what the president-elect ordered at a Chicago deli, that's wonderful and a great example of cutting-edge journalism. But what do you expect from a publication that did its best to protect George W. Bush and his administration as much as it humanly could for "access"?

"Press gaggle" has a derisive ring to it that's inevitably earned, and there are valid reasons (like the above and aforementioned) why the public invariably hates the press and journalists. This is because they're human, vulnerable to pressure from established power (making most of them traditional appendages of someone else's agenda), and because they tend to get their facts wrong, often knowingly.

A wonderful local example should do: A past acquaintance of mine was sleeping in the basement of his parent's home when a fire started, trapping him for a time, but he managed to escape the flames. Somehow, his dog also escaped on its own. Eventually, the fire trucks and the press belatedly arrived--the firemen extinguishing the blaze, while creatively took their notes. The next day we all sat reading the story that contended he had "run into the house to heroically rescue the family dog."

The problem? Nothing of the sort ever happened--not ever--and he hadn't even mentioned anything resembling the newspaper account to the journalist. He got out of the house and the dog was found wandering around by a fireman (they tend frequently to smoke pot and like hookers, just an FYI). The journalist and their editors just thought a rescue would read as more interesting, giving those blessed column inches that added "human element", ostensibly to sell more papers with ad-space. I could go on and on. When you cry wolf too often, people stop listening and reading, which they're doing-in-droves with the newspapers. Very soon, they will be gone and they won't be missed.

This harping over President-elect Obama wanting his own personal space implies that this desire somehow has sinister implications to it, which is a pretty silly reaction to someone asking logical questions--watch him when it counts. If only the same attention had been paid to the Bush II administration, although it's not as though Congress or the Courts were going to do anything, we already know this. No, get close to "inside sources," cultivate them, and act like we actually have a "Fourth Estate," a myth of that peculiar religion of journalism that worships falsehood with enough of a smidgen-of-truth so that they can sleep better at night. Adversarialism with the political class? Get real.

Look: monitor any given president's activities on the Hill, in the Oval office, in his choice of appointments, in the legality of his policies and his behaviors, but don't tell me he had a tuna sandwich on 12-grain bread. Nobody but the senile or the emotionally retarded care about that particular piece-of-information.

You can take your "access" and shove it. Journalism should never have become a profession, and today, it's a joke on the rest of us.

"The Socialists are taking over": A Free-Market Final Solution for the American/Global Economy

Waukesha, Wisconsin--If you didn't see it on Fox or C-Span today, John McCain was speaking at a rally when a very stupid old man started yelling, "The socialists are taking over," which makes no real sense while making a certain slanted sense, it being the GOP's lot to make no sense at all.

Of course, McCain being McCain, the dumbo demagogue he is, agreed with him, which is totally insane.

This line is being peddled by the GOP far-and-wide right now, and it's something to watch, counter, and to be wary of. "The Socialists are taking over."

We are? Can I tell you what to do now, asshole? Please? I kid. Others aren't, and they're rightly angry over the last 28 years of GOP meddling (they had DNC help) in our lives. "Kozmik" at Talking Points Memo wrote this eloquent and accurate assessment of where the GOP is right now regarding the Wall Street crash:

The GOP is in shambles. The ideology which sustained the GOP through the cold war is now expiring in rough parity with the Chevrolet truck as commuter vehicle.

You just can't base a platform on greed, ignorance, and violence and expect to be prosperous. You can't run a party on nihilism while claiming to be the party of morality. You can't expect to be the world's leader while encouraging anti-intellectualism.

Both McCain and the Bush family show they've lost control of the base they cultivated and hoped to exploit for their ignorance. The essential flaw in Machiavellian logic.

Today's GOP is based on? What?

It's all garbage. From the virulent anti-intellectualism to the nonsense laissez-faire supply-side economics, to the moronically hyper aggressive FP and colonial mindset more appropriate to the era of telegrams and horseback than global markets/media and loose nukes. http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/10/mccain_supporter_rants_about_h.php
Of course bailing-out the banks is a kind of socialism, but it's nothing new to this country, it hasn't felled any civilizations recently (actually saving them in Sweden when their banks collapsed for similar reasons), and he's misreading history as most Americans who have had to suffer under our miseducational system that allows gym teachers to instruct in history, forget economics.

But you see, I have a plan that can bring about a kind of Gnostic-healing of the divide between the Free Market and Socialism, an admixture, and it's a novel one.

It's very simple and very American: give everyone a credit card with an absolutely insane credit limit. Then, tell them they can go out and spend-spend-spend. Go to Pier 1 (not really, this is hypothetical, don't do this at home), go to Red Lobster, take vacations in Europe (Italy, that should do the trick), hit-up all the remaining record stores and comic book shops and buy almost everything, buy new cars and trucks, start an expensive and trendy new drug-habit, eat out all the time, go to tanning salons, and all those expensive department stores you always wanted to go nuts at.

You know, just go crazy, girl, and spend as much as humanly possible.

After that, we know the rest: bailouts for the entire American public, everyone, even illegal aliens. That's right, drinks for everyone, and on the house. That free lunch we've all been dreaming of could be nigh, and since it's the nightmare of the Republican Party and bitter shopkeepers everywhere--delicious. Voila! Everyone in America is bailed-out by the government, all will be pure as light, and we'll live happily ever after in la-la land.

You might think I'm kidding, but that's OK. It's understandable.

The insanity of it all is that my plan would likely work, this being the worst--and utterly irrational--of all possible human worlds. While Michelle Malkin (who's losing it today more than usual), Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly, and the rest of the GOP's apparatchiki go even crazier than they already are trying to explain away the bailout, we can all rest more soundly than they ever will. Yes, even with the worst economic crisis in our history facing us. Idiots like that old man in Waukesha are about to become a very isolated-cult of wackos, which is exactly what they were all along.

Now, things have been pushed so far by the conservatives that they've kicked their own hollow ideology from underneath themselves, they're done. Hemlock anyone? A drink for that man in the back row! I'd suggest that the old man from Waukesha drink hemlock, but he committed mental suicide a long time ago when he became a Republican.

And how is the right's "socialist" panic any different from the so-called online Left's with their hysteria over "an October 1 takeover"? It's not. They're all reactionaries who need to get-a-grip on themselves. That means you too Larisa Alexandrovna and all of the kooks at OpEd News. Reel it in, you're all beginning to sound like a bunch of hopped-up rednecks.

Bush as Anti-Social Personality Type

Huffington Post
--I gotta hand it to some of the regulars at Huffpo, they are a bright bunch (excluding the trolls). "Snowball" just made this observation on Bush, and it does seem to fit:

List of Antisocial Personality Disorder Traits: Sense of entitlement; Unremorseful; Apathetic to others; Unconscionable behavior; Blameful of others; Manipulative and conning; Affectively cold; Disparate understanding; Socially irresponsible; Disregardful of obligations; Nonconforming to norms; Irresponsible.

[W]hereas the DSM-IV "clinical" features of Antisocial Personality Disorder (with a person having at least three of these characteristics) are:
Clinical Symptoms for an Antisocial Personality Disorder Diagnosis[:]
1. Failure to conform to social norms [.]
2. Deceitfulness, manipulativeness [.]
3. Impulsivity, failure to plan ahead [.]
4. Irritability, aggressiveness.
5. Reckless disregard for the safety of self or others.
6. Consistent irresponsibility.
7. Lack of remorse after having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another person.

That about sums up the Chimperor.

I would say that George W. Bush is a border-line of this type, while someone like Stalin or Hitler would be on the highest-end of the scale. But, this could describe most statesmen. It's a chilling-reality, but these traits are both why they are able to reach such heights in our political system, while conversely wrecking it.
