Jeane Palfrey's Suicide Notes

Tarpon Springs, Florida--I believe that these notes are genuine, and without question Jeane's final testament to her life and her family. To say otherwise is to speculate and to dishonor the dead when there's no evidence to contradict the obvious fact that Deborah Jeane Palfrey committed suicide rather than return to prison.

Do I care what others think? Not really, few of you were involved in this story as I and others were (and still are). Decide for yourselves what these letters are saying. Many of you will get it wrong, but that's to be expected. Interestingly, the vast majority of the mainstream media and the blogs, comment-threads, and whatnot, have missed one of the most important lines in her mother's letter: "There is a little surprise waiting for you in the BOA [Bank of America] account."

It's a little unclear whether the DOJ was aware of these funds. Palfrey seems to have brought them to her mother's attention to facilitate financial closure and to pay for whatever costs the deceased was leaving behind. Now leave the Palfrey family alone, they deserve their privacy. The circus is over.
